Good Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need insurance?

Insurance provides peace of mind at the time of a loss and protects against financial devastation. Purchasing a home or farm is one of the biggest investments you’ll make — protecting that investment is what we do. Our number one goal is to help you recover when a loss happens.

How can I reduce my premium?

Check your policy deductible — increasing it will decrease your premium. Review whether any items are over-insured; reducing their value reduces the premium. And ask about supporting policy credits: writing your auto policy alongside your homeowners may entitle you to a discount.

I just suffered a loss to my property. What should I do?

First, do whatever is necessary — and safe — to prevent further damage. Then report your claim to your agent or the company immediately, with your contact information and the important details. Feel free to ask questions; we’re here to help you at the time of your loss. See the claims section on our Contact page for where to send your claim.
